QUESTIONNAIRE
We asked our friends and families questions about what they would like to see in the first two minutes of a supernatural horror film and these were the results we got.
The results for this question showed that the majority of people we asked were from ages 13-19 meaning our target audience will most likely be teens.
Because we go to an all girls school most of the people we asked are female.
Most people didn't care whether the main character was male or female as they thought it wouldn't have too much of an effect on the plot.
Most people answered that they would prefer the main character to be aged from 17-25. Although this is what people voted for we decided we wanted someone a bit younger to be the main character because it would seem more frightening to have a child in danger in a horror film. For this reason we are aiming for the main character to be aged at around 10 to 13 years old.
These results show that people would prefer a build in tension during the first two minutes rather than lots of jump scares. We agree with this and have decided to mostly focusing on building up the suspense.
75% voted for there to be not too much dialogue in the film, which i think we will definitely take into consideration when we are writing the script.
Most people like animals and wanted to see one in our film. same.
The majority of people wanted to see only 1 or 2 characters in our opening, which i think we agree with because otherwise it might become too complicated and busy on screen.
